Our students work hard every day to learn the skills they will need to become a successful Beauty Industry professional. At Marinello, we understand that learning goes beyond classroom instruction. That is why Marinello students participate in local competitions, industry expos and community events.

To help encourage high attendance and professional appearance, San Bernardino campus students with at least 85% attendance got the chance to compete in Marinello’s Next Top Stylist.” Using a model, competitors create hair, makeup and style designs and then direct their model through a photo shoot. Competitors select their favorite photos to enter the competition. The experience and challenge for the students is definitely one of a kind and the students love it!
The Bell, Los Angeles-East, Paramount and Reseda campuses joined forces with Juguetón to raise toys for children who weren’t going to receive a gift this Christmas. This is Marinello’s second year in participating for the wonderful cause. The four campuses held a competition to see which campus could raise the most toys. The Los Angeles-East and Paramount campuses tied in the competition, while all four campuses raised nearly one thousand toys! The fundraising event will be featured on television by Azteca America.
On Thursday, December 1, ten students performed beauty demonstrations for a women’s group at the Paramount Library. Over thirty-eight women were in attendance interested in the history of Marinello and the talents of Ms. Debra’s students.
On Tuesday, November 8, the Portland campus held their quarterly competition which tested teams of students to create Avant Garde themed looks. Best hair, nails and overall look were just a few of the categories students competed in. A total of twelve winners reigned supreme amongst the campus.
As part of Marinello’s High School Reach Out Program, Moreno Valley campus students welcomed Moreno Valley High School students into their student salons for complementary hairstyling, make-up applications and manicures. Our students ensured that homecoming night would be one to remember with their new gorgeous look.
On Monday, October 31, the Halloween talents of the Fresno campus were showcased as well on KMPH Fox 26 news as they were invited to the set to apply Halloween makeovers on the anchors. The KMPH Fox 26 camera crew arrived at the Fresno campus also to complete the Halloween segment by highlighting the amazing work of the students.
