Marinello Schools of Beauty Announces Winners of Raw Talent High School Scholarship Program
LOS ANGELES, CA - Marinello Schools of Beauty, one of the most renowned and well established beauty schools on the West Coast, recently announced the five winners of the Marinello Raw Talent High School Scholarship Program. Intended to motivate high school students to pursue their professional goals in the beauty industry, the program features $30,000 in scholarships, including $10,000 for the first place winner and $5,000 each for second, third, fourth, and fifth place winners.
The winner of the first-place scholarship of $10,000 is Caitlin Allred, a cosmetology student at the Marinello campus in Provo, Utah. A firm believer in the adage its whats on the inside that counts, Caitlin sees her entry into the beauty profession as an opportunity not only to make her clients physically beautiful, but to help them feel beautiful on the inside also. In addition, scholarships of $5,000 were awarded to Cynthia Fernandez, a cosmetology student at the City of Industry, CA. campus, Mikaela Webb, an esthetics student attending the San Francisco campus, Marlen Perez, cosmetology student in Seaside, and to esthetics student Stephanie Jimenez at Marinellos El Cajon campus.
The Marinello Raw Talent Scholarship program is a wonderful way for Marinello Schools of Beauty to give back to the community, while encouraging young people to pursue their dreams of beauty industry careers and providing the financial resources needed to do so, says Dr. Nagui Elyas, President of Marinello Schools of Beauty (www.marinello.com). He added, we are delighted at how popular the scholarship program was and impressed with the quality of all the entries.
Scholarship candidates were required to submit an essay describing how they plan to make a difference as a professional in the beauty school industry. The essays were reviewed by Marinellos high school scholarship committee, which judged the entries on content, creativity, syntax, spelling and grammar, as well as the candidates ability to show they are success driven and enthusiastic about becoming a beauty industry professional. The finalists selected from the essay submittals advanced to the skills portion of the competition, from which the winners were chosen. The skills competitions included one for the cosmetology category, in which finalists performed updos, while students in the esthetics category were challenged to showcase their makeup skills.
