STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS - KANSAS

Cosmetology – 1,500 hours

The curriculum for students enrolled in the Cosmetology program consists of technical instruction and practical training in the art and science of cosmetology, which includes beautifying and improving the hair, skin and nails. The program provides the basics for a solid foundation in hair cutting, permanent waving, chemical relaxers, hairstyling, hair coloring, skin care, manicuring, and safety and sanitation. Instruction is also given in proper work habits and desirable attitudes necessary for successful employment in the field of Cosmetology. Kansas Law and basic business practices are also included in the curriculum.

 

Esthetics (Skin Care) – 1,000 hours

The curriculum for students enrolled in the Esthetics program consists of technical instruction and practical training in the art and science of skin care, which includes skin treatments, body treatments, advanced skin treatments, makeup, temporary hair removal, skin anatomy and physiology, and skin analysis and consultation. The course is designed to develop the basic manipulative skills, safety judgments, proper work habits and desirable attitudes necessary for successful employment in the field of Esthetics. Kansas Law and basic business practices are also included in the curriculum.

 

MANICURING – 350 HOURS

The curriculum for students enrolled in the Manicuring Program consists of technical instruction and practical training in the art and science of manicuring, which includes basic manicures, sculptured nails, artificial nails, wrapping, tipping, pedicuring, and sanitation and safety. Instruction is also given in proper work habits and desirable attitudes necessary for successful employment in the field of Manicuring. Kansas Law and basic business practices are also included in the curriculum.
