Beauty Education Scholarships

In the continuing effort to assist you in achieving your educational goals, Marinello Schools of Beauty encourages students to not only strive in their program of interest, but also consider competing for rewards and recognition to attain a life-long learning experience. Marinello students should apply for all scholarships early, apply often and as many times as they wish.

In addition to Financial Aid, feel free to explore a list of scholarship opportunities to help supplement financing your education. Please contact your admissions advisor for any questions you may have in addition to financial aid, enrollment and scholarship details. In general, students must be currently enrolled with Marinello Schools of Beauty in order to apply for the scholarships. Scholarships are based on the funds available and do not have to be repaid.


OPI & AACS ACE Scholarship Application 2013

Deadline: January 1 – April 15, 2013: Three (3) Scholarship Winners announced at the AACS Spring Operations Conference; May 1, 2012 – July 10, 2013: Three (3) Scholarship Winners announced at the CEA Conference; and August 1, 2012 – November 10, 2013: Three (3) Scholarship Winners announced at the AACS Annual Conference.

As part of OPI’s ongoing scholarship program, 9 students annually who are attending AACS member schools will each be awarded a $500.00 scholarship from OPI. Students must be enrolled, or in the process of enrolling, in a cosmetology related program at an AACS member school to qualify. Winners will be selected based on an essay and one industry recommendation.

You must submit this application along with a 1-2 page essay detailing why you chose a career in the beauty industry and how you see nail care playing a role in your future career. You must also provide one recommendation from a beauty industry professional, this can be a licensed cosmetologist, nail technician, instructor, etc. The application must also be verified by a school official.

The money will be paid directly to the school on behalf of the student and is to be applied toward tuition and education expenses. The scholarship recipient’s name and essay may be used in marketing and promotional pieces as well as on the web.

50% of Cosmetology School Tuition– for students with a start date school between January 28, 2013 and August 4, 2013

This scholarship provides an opportunity to those seeking a career in cosmetology. Prospective students can apply for a scholarship, which pays 50% of their tuition to a qualified cosmetology school. Basic guidelines for entry are as follows:

• Must be 18 years of age or older by the start date of the cosmetology school program.

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

• Must be a student with an active START date no sooner than January 28, 2013 and no later than August 4, 2013

• Must have a letter of acceptance from a qualifying school.

• Must complete a written essay (500 words or less) or a video testimonial (one to three minutes) answering the following question: Share what Vidal Sassoon’s legacy of creativity, craftsmanship, professional drive and love of learning means to you. Also include how you see yourself changing lives through beauty as he did.

BCL Scholarships for Students: NEW Information

A few weeks ago Beauty Changes Lives launched a scholarship competition for prospective students. Ten people will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship by entering a video or essay at www.beautychangeslives.org/scholarships. The enrollment dates have been changed, allowing more of your future students to be eligible. As long as they enroll in school between the date they submit their application and March 1, 2013, they are eligible to win. This has been changed from the previous verbiage, which required students to start class after the new year.


BEAUTY SCHOOLS DIRECTORY $2,500 COSMETOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP

Deadlines: January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31 every year. Future students of the beauty disciplines, including Cosmetology, Esthetics (Skin Care), Barbering, Manicuring/Nail Technology, Makeup Artistry and several others, can apply for this $2,500 cosmetology scholarship through Beauty Schools Directory. This scholarship is awarded four times per year, and is not tied to a specific school. The scholarship recipient is selected from the pool of individuals who submit their scholarship application and meet the criteria outlined in the rules.

OPI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM THROUGH THE SCHAEFFER FAMILY FOUNDATION

Deadline: Last day of every month in 2012. OPI Products Inc., the world leader in professional nail care, has built its reputation on excellence and innovation. NCEA SCHOLARSHIP

Deadlines: March 1, June 1, September 1, and December1. Eligible esthetician students can receive a $1,000 incentive scholarship while attending esthetic school. Applicants must be midway through an esthetician only training program, maintain at least 80% attendance, and 80% grade average. A selection committee comprised of NCEA members will review all applications that meet the requirements and are verified by the student's school.

GREAT CLIPS: ALICE MADDEN BARTON COSMETOLOGY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Deadline: June 30 and December 31 each year. Current students, high school students and anyone interested in cosmetology or barbering as a career can apply for a scholarship through the Alice Madden Barton Scholarship program. These scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school. The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and dedication to developing their skills.

JOE FRANCIS HAIRCARE SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION

Deadline: June 1 of each year. This $1,000 beauty school scholarship is available to students currently enrolled in a cosmetology program. Applications are accepted from January 1 through June 1 of each year. A one-page essay and letter of recommendation must be filed along with the application. Students graduating between January 1 and August 31 of the current award year are not eligible. Esthetician or Nail training students are not eligible.
