Essay Requirements:

• 1 1/2 to 2 page essay, double spaced, 11 to 12 font, Times New Roman. All essays not conforming to this standard are subject to rejection without consideration.
• The essay will be due to corporate Whittier with an attached Marinello application, printed & postmarked by midnight of April 29, 2011.

Competition:

• Competition is scheduled for the last two weeks of April. (A campus representative will contact you to confirm dates and times.)
• Candidates interested in cosmetology will be performing updo’s.
• Candidates interested in the Esthetics (Skin Care) program will perform make-up.
• The Marinello campus director and their appointed staff will take photographs before and after of the participants work. All photographs will be sent to corporate.
• We strongly encourage video recordings of the practical portion for the scholarship requirement.
• Before and after photographs, videos, and the graded essays, will be reviewed and judged by the scholarship committee to determine award.
• All competition participants are encouraged to bring friends and family to the campus for a tour and to try our affordable services.
• Competition photos must be photos of the MODEL ONLY! Photos are due to Corporate-Whittier with the competition candidate's name and Marinello Campus location printed on the back of the photo and postmarked by midnight April 29, 2011.

• To participate in the Marinello Schools of Beauty, “Marinello Recognizes Raw Talent” High School Scholarship Contest you must:
• a. Be a high school senior graduating by Summer 2011.
• b. Be a legal resident of the 50 United States.
• c. Be a “success-driven” student, looking to achieve your dreams in the Beauty Industry.
• Employees of Marinello Schools of Beauty, its parent subsidiary and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, web site providers or other parties involved in any aspect with the creation, production, operation, execution, and fulfillment of the Contest and the immediate family members (parents, siblings, children and spouse) and/or those living in the same household (whether or not related) of each are not eligible to win.
• Recipients must start Marinello by September 2011 or they will lose eligibility for award of the scholarship.
• The scholarship may not be transferred to any other college, university, vocational training program, or exchanged for cash.
• The scholarship will be awarded upon successful completion of the Marinello program the student attends.
• Management reserves the right to award the scholarship in its entirety upon enrollment, and becomes null and void if the student drops, or does not maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP), attendance, or other criteria that all students are responsible for.
