Is Marinello an accredited school?
YES! Marinello Schools of Beauty is a private institution that is accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts & Sciences (NACCAS). The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences is recognized by the United States Department of Education as a national accrediting agency for postsecondary schools and departments of cosmetology arts and sciences and massage therapy. Our campuses are approved by the United States Department of Education (DOE) to participate in Title IV Financial Aid programs. In addition, our campuses are active members of the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS). We have been approved by the following state agencies to operate in their respective jurisdictions:
Approved to operate by the Department of Public Health and by the Connecticut Office of Higher Education. Examinations for licensing as a registered hairdresser and cosmetician are prescribed by the Department of Public Health with the advice and assistance of the Examining Board for Barbers, Hairdressers and Cosmeticians. The Department of Public Health issues licenses for the occupation of registered hairdresser and cosmetician.

The Kansas Board of Cosmetology sets minimum standards for our programs of study and issues licenses to graduates upon passing the Board of Cosmetology licensing examinations.

Approved to operate by the Utah Department of Commerce, under its Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. The Utah Cosmetology/Barbering, Esthetics, Electrology and Nail Technology Licensing Board (Utah Board) operates under the division and administers the licensing process.
What are the graduation requirements?
In order to graduate, you must maintain a minimum grade of 70% in Theory tests and 70% in Practical Assessment evaluations, as well as completing the minimum technical hours and practical operations as mandated by the state in which your campus is located. You must also meet all of your financial obligations to Marinello Schools of Beauty.
Once I finish the program, how do I get my license?
After you complete your program, you must pass a licensing examination administered by the state board in order to receive your license. Marinello begins preparing students to take and pass the licensing exam early. Throughout your program, we provide "mock board exams" for both the written and the practical portions of the exam, as well as access to Milady’s Online State Board Test Preparation, to help prepare you for the written and practical components of the exam once you graduate. Foreign students do not qualify for the State License unless they possess a valid Social Security Number.
Tell me about the classes. What can I expect?
Beauty and wellness is a hands-on industry and Marinello classes prepare students accordingly, through a mix of classroom lectures and practical work, where students hone their new skills on mannequins and, eventually, guests in the student clinic. A typical week may also include video presentations through our classroom Media Centers, live demonstrations and guest speakers. Marinello students work with professional equipment commonly found in professional salons. Our instructors are seasoned industry professionals with years of experience behind them to help you succeed both in the classroom and after you graduate.
When can I start school?
Marinello campuses have an open enrollment policy and programs are offered continuously. Classes start on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Please consult with your campus Registrar regarding specific start dates.
When do I begin to work on "real people"?
During the Level I training, you will start work on family and friends and, as you continue to the next levels of training, you will work on student clinic guests, in addition to the mannequins.
Is there a minimum age to enroll?
Yes, you must be at least 17 years of age.
Do I need to have a high school diploma?
Yes, in most cases you do have to have a high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent, in order to enroll at Marienllo. Students who do not have a high school diploma, GED or its equivalent, may be able to enroll if they can demonstrate their ability to benefit from the education by passing an ability-to-benefit exam; however, they will not be eligible for Federal Financial Aid to offset the cost of their education.
Do you offer financial aid?
