Our students work hard every day to learn the skills they will need to become a successful Beauty Industry professional. At Marinello, we understand that learning goes beyond classroom instruction. That is why Marinello students participate in local competitions, industry expos and community events.

  • Miss Nevada Visits Marinello Las Vegas Campus

    The Marinello Schools of Beauty Las Vegas campus held an event for enrolled students in which Miss Nevada made an appearance as a guest speaker.

  • West Covina Halloween Competition

    On Friday, October 22nd our West Covina campus flaunted their bewitching talents as they walked the runway and competed against one another in a Halloween Competition. Check out our students as they showed off their skills, talent, and creativity in Halloween's spookiest and most glamorous costumes.

  • Lomita Campus Shares Their Expertise at the Long Beach Job Corp

    Fifteen aspiring stylists from the Lomita campus put their scissors to work at the Long Beach Job Corp. on October 19, 2010. Fifty of the approximately 100 students that attended the event received a haircut. Many of these students are between the ages of 16-24 and in the process of interviewing for new jobs. The students also heard a presentation about cosmetology and the types of jobs available for Marinello licensed graduates. Josh, a current Marinello Lomita student, shared with the group why he was pursing this career and let the guys know that there are just as many opportunities for men in the beauty industry as there are for women.

  • Pamper Me Fabulous

    This SOLD OUT event was held on Sunday, October 10th at the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa in Huntington Beach. Our Lake Forest and Huntington Beach campuses participated in rewarding and empowering women in mind, body, and spirit by offering mini manicures and makeovers. Our campuses also hosted 2 empowering talks about having a beautiful career with Marinello and learning more about your skin then just what’s on the surface.

  • 7th Annual International Competition

    Students showcased their creativity in hair and nail techniques at the 7th Annual International Competition, that took place on Saturday, October 2nd at the Marinello Burbank campus. The competition was open to all Southern California campuses and featured themed competitions to include Vintage/Through the Eras Up-do/Hairstyle, Avant Garde hair cutting, and Nail Art – Sweet Shop. Marinello competed head to head with Japan Takayama and IBW Beauty Schools. An award show wrapped up the competition, where winners of each category were recognized for their creative talents.

  • San Mateo Color Competition

    On September 28th, the Marinello-San Mateo campus participated in their quarterly competition. The theme was “Color and Design” with 15 students competing. The event was judged management of Snip-Its Salon in Palo Alto, CA.

  • The International Congress of Esthetics and Spa

    The International Congress of Esthetics and Spa is the leading skin care and spa event on the West Coast. Marinello Schools of Beauty was proud to be part of the expo offering facials, eyelash extensions, advance makeup, and excellent educational programs designed to broaden attendee’s skills. This unique event was held September 26 and 27, 2010 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

  • Utah Regional Competitions

    On September 21st, the Marinello campuses in Utah competed in a regional competition showcasing their skills in hair, nails, and makeup. The competitions were "Vogue Tour De Force," "Modern Enhancements" Nail competition, "I Do" Up Do Competition, and the "Collection Look" competition.

  • Sacramento Celebrity Look-a-Like Competition

    On September 8, 2010, students from all programs at the Marinello Sacramento campus were given onehour to recreate a celebrity look. Students competed against each other to see who could get the most creative with hair, clothes, makeup and nails.

  • Santa Clara Open House

    The Santa Clara campus reached out to the local community at an Open House on August 21, 2010. There was live entertainment, food, drinks, activities and a raffle. Guests were offered manicures, facials and hair cuts at affordable prices. Photography by Tioseco Photography.

  • San Francisco Bridal Competition

    Each quarter, one Marinello campus is selected to participate in an in-school competition. For the third quarter 2010 competition, San Francisco campus students created complete bridal looks and were judged on hair, make-up and nails.

  • Redding Bridal Competition

    Vintage charm and sophistication was celebrated at the annual Bridal Competition at the Redding campus. Students were recognized for their skills at styling hair, nails and make-up to create a unique bridal look.

  • Portland Students Deliver Glam Rock

    Portland students took part in a special competition entitled, The Glam Rock, where they teamed up to create celebrity-inspired looks. The judges were local beauty industry professionals and they evaluated the students on hair, nails, make-up, teamwork, and the overall appearance of their model.

  • Student Competition at the Long Beach International Beauty Expo

    Marinello commemorated 105 years of beauty education at the Long Beach International Beauty Expo with a special competition. Student stylists had to create hairstyles, makeup, and attire inspired by looks from 1905-present. Winners received scholarships towards advanced education workshops.

  • Marinello Celebrates 105 Years at the Long Beach International Beauty Expo

    The Long Beach International Beauty Expo, voted the nation's best beauty expo and industry educational event, was the site for the student competition, Marinello Through the Years. Student stylists worked with models to portray hairstyles, makeup, and attire from 1905 when the first Marinello school opened) to present day. Winners received scholarships towards advanced education workshops.

  • San Diego Bridal Compeition

    Elegance was the word of the day at the “Here Comes the Bride” student competition at Marinello’s San Diego campus. Students showcased their creativity and talent with exquisite bridal hair and make-up styles. Seventeen beauty industry representatives served as judges and guest speakers.

  • Supercuts’ SUPERSUNDAY 2010

    Marinello Reseda campus instructor Vicky Delgado, took home the Ultimate Teacher award, Moreno Valley campus student Mayra Pulido earned second place for her interpretation of “Lady Gaga”, and El Cajon campus student Jarrod Dumas won third place with his interpretation of Vanilla Ice.

  • Junior Style Stars 2010

    Students from Marinello’s Ogden, Provo, and San Bernardino campuses placed in the top 10 of the fourth annual Junior Style Stars competition. Junior Style Stars is the largest cosmetology student competition in the world with over 324 participants from over 40 states.

  • Earth Day

    Marinello’s North Hollywood campus celebrated Earth Day with student teams competing in a hair and nail competition. Students created looks inspired by Mother Nature.

  • Moreno Valley’s Texture to Perfection 2010 Competition

    Students at the Moreno Valley campus took part in the Textured to Perfection competition. They showed off their skills, talent, and creativity while they networked with Beauty professionals and competed for top prizes.

  • Burbank, El Cajon and San Diego Campuses Recognized for Student Success

    The Burbank, El Cajon, and San Diego campuses were awarded Marinello's Sit/Pass and Placement Award for their outstanding work and dedication to helping students succeed. At least 90% of eligible students at these campuses sat for the state license exam; at least 90% of the students taking the exam passed; and at least 90% were successfully placed in a career in the Beauty Industry.

  • Ogden Hosts First Masquerade Ball

    Students at Marinello’s Ogden campus hosted a Masquerade Ball featuring a fashion show, competition, and dancing. Models wore extravagant hair styles created by our cosmetology students and carried masquerade masks designed by our esthetics students. This event is sure to become an Ogden tradition.
