That is why Marinello students participate in local competitions, industry expos and community events.

    Hundreds of Toys Collected for Juguetón Toy Drive

    The Bell, Los Angeles-East, Paramount and Reseda campuses joined forces with Juguetón to raise toys for children who weren’t going to receive a gift this Christmas. This is Marinello’s second year in participating for the wonderful cause. The four campuses held a competition to see which campus could raise the most toys. The Los Angeles-East and Paramount campuses tied in the competition, while all four campuses raised nearly one thousand toys! The fundraising event will be featured on television by Azteca America.

    Paramount Campus Blends Books with Beauty

    On Thursday, December 1, ten students performed beauty demonstrations for a women’s group at the Paramount Library. Over thirty-eight women were in attendance interested in the history of Marinello and the talents of Ms. Debra’s students.

  • Moreno Valley High Students Visit Marinello for Homecoming Glamour

    As part of Marinello’s High School Reach Out Program, Moreno Valley campus students welcomed Moreno Valley High School students into their student salons for complementary hairstyling, make-up applications and manicures. Our students ensured that homecoming night would be one to remember with their new gorgeous look.

  • Fresno Campus Invited On Set for News Broadcast

    On Monday, October 31, the Halloween talents of the Fresno campus were showcased as well on KMPH Fox 26 news as they were invited to the set to apply Halloween makeovers on the anchors. The KMPH Fox 26 camera crew arrived at the Fresno campus also to complete the Halloween segment by highlighting the amazing work of the students.

  • Paramount Campus Preps Bell Gardens High School for Homecoming Beauty

    On Sunday, October 30, Ms. Debra of the Paramount campus brought twelve of her students to Bell Gardens High School to provide complementary services. It was Homecoming Day for Bell Gardens High School and Marinello students made certain that Bell Gardens High School wore elegant looks for a memorable night.

  • Marinello Students Win First Prize at International Beauty Expo

    We'd like to congratulate Raquel Rubin and Jeanne Collado of the Lomita campus for both placing First in the International Beauty Expo competitions in the themes of Avant Garde and Bridal on Sunday, October 23! Their amazing artistry was also featured on OC Fashionista.

  • Bell Campus Holds Reach Out Open House Event

    On Friday, October 21, the Bell campus welcomed the community for exclusive service specials. The turnout for this event was fantastic with over 100 guests receiving services they were overly pleased with. Refreshments, games and prizes also added extra fun and excitement for the guests.

  • Reno Campus Grand Opening Celebration

    On Tuesday, October 18, Marinello Schools of Beauty celebrated the grand opening of the Reno campus. Alice 96.5 was also on the scene giving away prizes and pumping out tunes to keep the guests entertained. The turnout for this event was great! The salon floor was decked out and the students were ready to start servicing guests. Exclusive service specials, a ribbon cutting ceremony and guest speakers were just a few of the exciting activities that were held.

  • Telemundo Features Los Angeles-East Campus' Halloween Makeup Talents

    On Thursday, October 13, Telemundo paid a visit to the Los Angeles-East campus to feature the campus’ artistic Halloween makeup talents. The feature covered Halloween make-up tips and tricks as well as the phenomenal, festive work created by the students.

  • Bakersfield Campus Grand Opening Celebration

    On Tuesday, October 11, Marinello Schools of Beauty celebrated the grand opening of the Bakersfield campus. HOT 94.1 was on the scene giving away prizes and pumping tunes to keep guests grooving. The students and salon floor were decked out and ready to start servicing guests. Exclusive service specials, a ribbon cutting ceremony and guest speakers were just a few of the exciting activities that were held. The turnout for this event was spectacular!

    8th Annual International Hair and Nails Competition

    On Saturday, October 1, the 8th Annual International Hair and Nails Competition was yet again a tremendous success. For eight consecutive years, Marinello welcomed students from Japan, this year from Takayama Beauty School in Tokyo, for a challenging and exciting beauty competition. This year's theme included Avant Garde haircuts, Bridal up-dos and 3D Bridal nails. A total of one hundred and sixty students participated in the competition with fifteen reigning winners. Representatives within the beauty industry such as OPI, Clairol, Wella and J's Hair Studio and Academy were present as judges for the competition. The talent and effort from every student was phenomenal and congratulations to the winners!

  • Paramount Campus Reaches Out to Senior Citizens

    On Tuesday, July 12, the Paramount campus visited the Long Beach Senior Center to provide haircuts, hairstyling and manicures to over 60 senior citizens. This is all a part of Marinello’s Senior Reach Out Program. The Press Telegram interviewed two students and an instructor to appear in the paper on Wednesday July 13, 2011.

  • Utah Campuses Hold Open Houses for Laser Certification

    On June 10 and 11, the Utah campuses held an open house to promote the new Laser Certification program. The certificate is part of the Master Esthetics program. Attendees took campus tours and spoke with an expert medical director to learn more the program. Prizes were given away and refreshments were served.

  • Utah Campuses On Set at Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

    All three Utah campuses were on the set of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition during the shoot in June on location in West Jordan, Utah. The students provided hand and arm massages to the hard working volunteers.

  • Garden Grove Strawberry Festival

    On Saturday, May 21, students from the Anaheim and Lake Forest campuses provided free makeup applications and enrollment information to the attendees of this popular annual event.

  • 8th Annual Marinello International Competition

    On Saturday, May 21, the San Francisco Campus held the 8th Annual Marinello International Competition. More than 90 talented students from 12 Northern California campuses competed against IBW Japan in three categories: Bridal Hairstyling, Avant Garde, and 3D Bridal Nails.

  • San Diego – Miramar Campus Career Day

    On Tuesday, May 17, the San Diego - Miramar campus held a day full of glamour and ambition. Students were given the opportunity to exhibit their work in front of many promising employers, including salon owners, Supercuts, and Carlton Hair just to name a few. Students were able to submit their resumes and schedule interviews with the hiring employers. Guest speakers from the beauty industry were available to answer students’ questions about how to build a successful career.

    On Saturday, May 14, the Lomita campus was on the scene at KIIS FM’s Wango Tango Village to show the thousands of concert goers why Marinello Schools of Beauty defines beauty education.

  • Murrieta Campus Grand Opening

    On Friday, May 6, the Murrieta campus celebrated its grand opening. There were service specials, a raffle and Q103.3 was on site with free pizza and show ticket giveaways.

  • Paramount Campus Celebrates Cinco de Mayo with Lifeline Charter High School

    On Thursday, May 5, the Paramount campus visited Lifeline Charter High School to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style. Marinello students cut and styled the high schooler's hair, provided manicures and did mini makeovers.

  • Lomita Campus Backstage at CSULB Rags 2 Rhythm Fashion Show

    On Thursday, May 5, the Lomita campus set up backstage at California State University – Long Beach to transform models into runway raiders. From makeup to hair, Marinello students created fierce looks for the fashion students to showcase their chic outfit designs at their annual Rags 2 Rhythm event.

  • Seaside Campus Brings Back Classic Looks

    On Tuesday, April 26, the Seaside campus held its quarterly competition. The competition challenged students to create looks from past decades -- all the way back to the 1900s. The Seaside students shined in this showcase of their talents and skills.

  • Marinello Proudly Sponsors 64th Annual Miss Bell Gardens

    On Saturday, April 23, twenty contestants participated in the 64th Annual Miss Bell Gardens Pageant. Marinello students were backstage making sure the contestants looked their best for the runway. Itza Moreno was crowned queen. Itza and the 2011 court will continue to support their community by staying active in city events as well as volunteering throughout the year.

  • Portland Campus Holds Spring Bling Competition

    On April 21, each team in the competition was challenged to create and style a Spring-themed runway look. Teams styled their models from head to toe in Spring colors and even the music kept up with theme. Students were judged on who delivered the best Spring experience on the runway.

  • Murrieta Campus Delivers New York Style for High School Prom

    On Friday, March 25, the artistic team from the Murrieta campus made an appearance at Paloma Valley High School to do hair and makeup for their Prom Fashion show. The theme was “Uptown New York” and the artistic team was just as excited as the students to show off their glamorous looks.

    The Murrieta campus students unleashed their artistic talents and created beautiful and unique St. Patrick’s Day themed looks.

  • Sacramento Campus Gets Innovative and Creative

    On Wednesday, March 16, the Sacramento campus students had a challenging competition. Using a box of random items such as construction paper, paperclips and pencils, students were challenged to create innovative looks using only the materials provided.

  • Lomita Campus Brings The Salon Chair to Torrance High School

    Lomita students visited Torrance High School on Tuesday, March 15 to help bring a little beauty to the day.

    Lake Forest Campus Does Retro for Miss Musink Contest

    Lake Forest Marinello students provided hair and makeup services for the “Miss Musink” Contest at the Musink Tattoo Convention & Music Festival. The event was held on Saturday, March 5 at the OC Fairgrounds. Ten models received glamorous 50’s girl pinup styles from our talented hair and makeup artists: Olivia Reiff, Vanessa Gonzalez, Brittany Haack, and Ashlee Hannon. Meghan Walser, our evening esthetician instructor, supervised the backstage event.

  • San Francisco Campus Grand Opening A Big Success

    On February 24, Marinello celebrated the grand opening of the San Francisco campus. Wild 94.9 was there giving away prizes and keeping everyone dancing. The students and salon floor were decked out and ready to start servicing guests.

  • Inglewood Students Glam Up Models for Fashion Show

    Inglewood Marinello students had their skills put to the test at the Fifth Annual Pan American Hair Show. The show was held at Cal State Dominguez Hills where there were over 800 attendees. The students worked backstage with about 40 models.

  • Paramount Students Deliver Lunch Time Beauty Treatments

    Paramount students dropped by Downey High School on February 23 to provide haircuts, manicures and makeovers for eager high school students. Check out the photo gallery to watch our students in action.

  • Paramount Students Reach Out to Local High School

    Students from the Paramount campus visited Tracey Wilbur Continuation High School on February 16 to treat the students to an afternoon of beauty. Over 70 high school students got their makeup done or had their hair styled or cut. These high school outreach events offer our students the opportunity to practice their skills while serving the local community.

    The students of the Henderson used their artistic talent to style creative Valentine’s Day themed looks.                 

  • Lake Forest Campus Helps Raise Money for the Homeless

    The Lake Forest campus students assisted Tribeca Salon in a cut-a-thon benefitting the Village of Hope Homeless Shelter. Haircuts were by appointment only and cost $50. All proceeds went directly to Village of Hope.

  • West Covina Campus Brings Style to Azusa High School

    As part of Marinello’s inspiring High School Reach Out Program, our West Covina campus students made an appearance at Azusa High School on Friday, February 11 to provide free hairstyling, manicures, and make-up. The event had a wonderful turnout and the students enjoyed the free services.

  • Paramount Campus Beautifies Bellflower High School

    As part of Marinello’s inspiring High School Reach Out Program, our Paramount campus students made an appearance at Bellflower High School on Thursday, February 10 to provide free hairstyling, manicures, and make-up. The event had a wonderful turnout and the students loved the free services.

  • Lake Forest Pampers Breast Cancer Survivors

    On February 5, our Lake Forest campus helped make breast cancer survivors feel more beautiful at an event held by Working Wardrobes.

  • Whittier Campus Rewards Scholastic Students

    On Thursday, January 13, Marinello School of Beauty students from the Whittier campus rewarded 60 students with hair styling, haircut, manicure, and make-up services for successfully completing their projects. Nineteen stations were set up in the Whittier High School library to glamorize the excelling students. The students enjoyed the services and were impressed by the professionalism of the Marinello students. Rewarding the Whittier High School students is one of the many events held by Marinello’s High School Reach Out Program.

  • West Covina Campus Gets Formal

    On Thursday, January 6, Marinello Schools of Beauty students from the West Covina campus helped seven students of West Covina High School look their finest for the annual Winter Formal. The students then showcased their new look amongst their fellow classmates. Pampering the West Covina High School students is one of the many events held by Marinello’s High School Reach Out Program.
